| Little
children love to create things all on their own, and it's
important to encourage them. But after chipping dried
play-dough out of the living room rug, or spending 30
minutes cleaning up after a 90 second finger-painting
session, you wonder how you will survive these creative
years. Here's how... |
| |
Set up
a Creation
Station for
your youngster. It should have a place to keep supplies
that are in reach of your child at all times, The Anytime Art
Box, a place
to work, and also a separate place for materials to be
used with your supervision, The Special
Craft Box. If
you have room in your kitchen, set up the Creation
Station there. It is easy to clean, and is where you will
be working part of the day. A drawer for supplies should
be enough space, or put them in a bin in a lower
cupboard. If you have the room, set up an easel, or a
child's table and chairs. Otherwise, make a space for
creating at the kitchen table. You can put The Anytime
Art Box in a drawer or basket in your child's room, with
a table or hard floor in his room to work on. But keep
The Special Craft Box out of reach. These supplies will
need to be used when you can keep a watchful eye. |
