Bill Gates (left), CEO of
Microsoft, personally presented Someday Isle with the
first place trophy of the 1998 Windows World Open contest
sponsored by Microsoft, ComputerWorld Magazine, and
Comdex.
The Windows World Open is the premier international competition that recognizes the best in custom Microsoft Windows development. Someday Isle competed for the top prize at Windows World '98 in Chicago, where it was honored by Mr. Gates as a technology leader. The winning entry, the SomedayIsle.Com Internet Toy Store Manager, built by the staff at Someday Isle, helps provide excellent customer service by effectively managing the thousands of items contained in the on-line store.
Judging was based on each entry's business and technical merits, receiving points for the importance of the business solution, financial benefits, effectiveness of technical design, user interface design and how well the application leveraged installed or existing technology. The judges were 20 high-level executives from corporations and government agencies in four countries. They were selected because of their extensive knowledge about Information Systems and Windows-based development. Someday Isle thanks the
judges and sponsors of the Windows World Open for this
tremendous honor. We pledge to continue to use
world-class technology to provide our customers with the
best on-line shopping experience possible. |
